Conversations With My Toddler
Yesterday during lunch I said to Evan in a sing song voice “I love you.” He repeated, sort of, but he had the melody down.
A while later I recorded this video.
*sigh* I love being a mom.

It’s no secret that I’ve been enjoying the rainy weather we’ve been having. Now my boys are also getting in on the rainy day action with this awesome rain gear for kids from The Children’s Place.
I really liked the rain coat on Evan. The roomy raglan sleeves made it a breeze to put it on him even though he was wearing a hoodie and vest. The bright colors in this perfectly boyish super-hero pattern really pop on cloudy days and I could tell that he enjoyed wearing it because it was fun! It is lined in cotton jersey so it’s also adds warmth and a whole lot of comfort. The snap closures on the front, hood, and cuffs are great protection on windy rainy days (much like the one we’re having today.)
Michael loved this umbrella, he felt very much like a big kid and couldn’t wait to put it to good use! I liked that it was easy for him to open and close on his own. These products are exactly the reason why I love to shop at The Children’s Place. Their clothing is well thought out with the kid in mind, they’re made so that they can be comfortable, playful and do all the things that little children do and not be inhibited by stiff, uncomfortable styles or fabrics.
The rain coat and umbrella are available right now at the Children’s Place.

Read MoreEverlon Love Inspired Jewelry
My best friend is getting married next March. During one of our 1,365,489,749,464,798,745,613 talks she asked me to keep an “eye open” for jewelry ideas for her to wear and what I heard was “find me the perfect jewelry to wear on the most important day of my life.”
So I did what any self respecting BFF would do and went on a search for her bridal jewelery.
During that search I came across Everlon it’s a knot that symbolizes the strength of love. How cool is that?
I’m sort of in love with this piece.
Sigh. Hint. Sigh.
And this pendant in two tone…
I know I was supposed to be looking for my best bud…but sparkly things sorta make me go all weak in the knees.
(In case you were wondering my husband does read my blog.)
Read MoreStephenie Meyer to Release an "Eclipse" Novella
I awoke this morning to a fabulous thing.
I woke up and did a little *squee*
I woke up and read about this:
Stephenie Meyer will be releasing a novella, an Eclipse companion of sorts called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner will be released on June 5, two weeks before the release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse film. You can find more information about the first official work released by Stephenie Meyer in nearly two years at a dedicated website: www.breetanner.com.
Can’t remember who Bree Tanner was. I’ll fill you in.

Bree Tanner was a young newborn vampire turned by Victoria when she went bonkers and played mommy to a slew of vampires she intended for her war on Edward, Bella and the Cullen clan. Bree was actually going to be allowed to live by the Cullens, but was struck down by the Volturi in the end. It’s going to be great to get to see what was going through her mind and gain a new perspective on the whole new born vamps gone wild story line.
Personally, I’m totally stoked.
Apparently this story was a “fun” project for Stephenie, who then thought it could be included in The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide book, but it was too long.
I’ve got even better news.
We can get it for free online from June 7th until July 5th.
It will be available in hard cover for purchase.
Another cool thing.
One dollar from sales of this novella’s first printing, a whopping 1.5 million copies will be donated to The American Red Cross.

Read MoreToo Cold for Flip Flops
Yesterday was a chilly overcast Forks-like kind of day. We all got up early and went to Mass, then we came home. I made lunch and afterward I went out to run a few errands. That’s my key word for out hunting for a new craft project. While I was out I was repeatedly confronted with women wearing sandals or flip flops. They usually had on a jacket or hoody and long pants but their tootsies were left to freeze.
I’m sorry-I do not understand this. If you happen to wear sandals when it’s cold out-please comment and tell me why. I honestly don’t get it.
I know it’s spring and we’re all itching to get into our warm weather garb-but I can’t understand wearing sandals when it’s forty degrees outside. On Saturday which was-although slightly warmer and sunny out my feet froze while wearing my Chucks, so much so that I had to come home and put on my UGGS. Are these ladies immune to cold feet? I totally understand the need to wear cute sandals…or shoes in general, but I’d rather be warm than be miserable with freezing feet.
I learned that lesson the hard way two Easter Sunday’s ago when I wore cute sandals with my Easter best-and was miserable the entire time. Needless to say, I won’t do that again-EVER!
I grew up in Miami, sandals and flip flops are worn all year round. It makes sense. Miami is warm practically every day of the year. Here in Virginia…not-so-much!
This is what I was wearing yesterday. I actually got to wear my Hunter Boots in the rain too! It was great, my feet were warm and toasty thanks to my welly warmers. A side effect of these darling boots that I was unaware of is the urge to jump in puddles while wearing them.
The picture is a blurry mess, but Michael snapped it with my iPhone before we left for church-he said, “Mommy let me take your picture, you look so pretty.” He was totally trying to butter me up to let him play on the PS3 but he was so cute while doing it I couldn’t say no. His buttering up worked of course!

Toodles!
