The White House on MySpace
In yet another move that will undoubtedly be deemed young and cool much like giving Queen Elizabeth an iPod, The White House is now on MySpace. You can also friend our president and vice president on MySpace. Go ahead, log on, friend them and leave a comment; who knows they are so young and cool they may just log on and write you a comment back!
I actually think this is a good move on the part of our administration. Bringing The White House to the people is smart, personalizing The White House for the masses makes them more approachable, more likable than they already are. All the people who adore him and think he’s doing a spectacular job will undoubtedly continue to do so if the only information they get comes directly from the administration. Lets hope that most of them are smarter than that and seek other news outlets (besides CNN which might as well be called the Barack Hussein Obama news network) for their information.
Oh, and by the way you can also find them on Twitter and I hear rumor of one on Facebook.
To visit The White House on Myspace go to: myspace.com/whitehouse
To follow our President on Twitter go to: twitter.com/BarackObama
To follow The White House on Twitter go to: twitter.com/whitehouse
As far as Facebook there are so many profiles for both our president and The White House that I was hard pressed to find any that felt authentic.
Reading and How I Occupy My Time on Facebook
I know I’ve been MIA for a few days. No excuse really so I’m not going to make one up. I’ve been entranced in this new novel I’m reading called Sepulchre by Kate Mosse. If you’re someone who enjoys a good mystery, ghost tale that takes place both in the nineteenth and twenty first centuries then you might enjoy this incredibly smart and well written tale.
I’ve also been wasting spending my time normally delegated for writing by taking quizzes and naming my top five on Facebook. I am having a grand time naming my top five for various things.
For example:
My Top Five Things to Have when Zombies Attack are:
Grey Goose Vodka, a machete, sneakers, a pry bar, and a can of aerosol and a lighter.
My Top Five Things I don’t leave home with out are:
Burts Bees Lip Balm, Sony Cybershot DSC-W170, iPod video, my children, Moleskin notebook (pink of course)
.

Twitter & The Oprah Phenomenon
Were you here before Oprah? That is the question being asked by herebeforeoprah.com of Twitter users who are peeved that she gained over 300K users in a day. Do I care that Oprah is now using Twitter. Nope.
I was here before Oprah. Were you?
Website Cares about Connecting You
Finding quality care for one’s children is of the utmost importance. As a parent and someone who has worked with children most of my adult life I’ve been on both sides. When I was asked to review a website that connected providers with parents I was excited. What I found was a great resource that connected people who “care” with those in need of a specific type of “care”. Care.com succeeds in connecting parents seeking a nanny, home daycare provider, part time babysitter, tutor, for their children, it also includes providers who specialize in children with special needs. However Care.com doesn’t stop there. It can also help you find a housekeeper or someone to care for an elderly family member or even your family pets.
I spent a lot of time going through the website. Clicking in my zip code for every service they provide. To my surprise I was able to find people near me in most cases. I was surprised because I live in a small sort of out of the way town. I also checked in bigger metropolises like Miami, Danbury, CT, and Las Vegas.
This is a great tool to help you find caring professionals to care for what matters most to you.
Email Scams Involving the Military
I recieved an email from someone claiming to be in the military serving overseas. She asked if I would be kind enough to move about 3.2 million dollars! Umph! Take it from me, if a person had that much green, they wouldn’t be wearing Army Green! Secondly she claims to have found money belonging to Sadam Hussein. News Flash any money found is NOT kept by the United States.
Here’s a copy of the email spewing falshoods and undoubtedly trying to scam me out of money which in and of itself is wrong, but defaming the U.S. military is so annoying. Not to mention that they mention the death of a U.S. solider, this person is beyond scum.
Dear Friend,
My name is Major,Selma George. I am an American soldier with Swiss background, serving in the military with the army 3rd infantry division. With a verydesperate need for assistance, I have summed up courage to contact you. I foundyour contact particulars in an address journal. I am seeking your kindassistance to move the sum of ( $ 3.2 million u.s.dollars )three million, twohundred united states dollars to you, as far as I can be assured that my sharewill be safe in your care until I complete my service here, this is no stolenmoney, and there are no danger involved. I am presently in a hospitalrecovering from injuries sustained in a suicide bomb attack.Source of money:Some money in various currencies was discovered in barrels at a farmhouse nearone of Saddam’s old palaces in Tikrit-Iraq during a rescue operation, andit was agreed by staff Sgt Kenneth buff and I that some part of this money beshared among both of us before informing anybody about it since both of us sawthe money first. This was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? Nocompensation can make up for the risk we have taken with our lives in this hellhole. Of which my brother in-law was killed by a road side bomb last week.
Download Free Music on Fuse
I’ve said it before. I would be lost with out my iPod. My muse lives inside it. What I mean by that is, that I enjoy writing most while listening to music.
