Gosh…who knew three weeks could feel like three days. I’m trying not to think about Sunday. I’m really trying not to think about the days, weeks, and months that will follow. It will inevitably suck at first. We’re going to feel his absence. It will be permeable. A thick fog swirling about our feet.
My son Evan snapped this picture of me and said I should blog it. I’m happy to oblige him and all his wonderful three-year-old-nuttiness! Of course, I though tit would be a perfect opportunity to blog about him. He cut his own hair this week.
Yesterday as I drove home from picking my eldest son Michael up from school he began telling me about his day and related a discussion he had in class about Veteran’s Day. His teacher asked if anyone knew why we celebrated Veteran’s Day and Mike said he raised his hand (he was [...] I’m up late tonight writing. I’ve not written anything for NaNoWriMo yet. It’s been a busy day. I’m even questioning the writing of this post-because for obvious reasons the time I spend clicking away here-is time not spent clicking away there. If I were to describe myself the first word [...] By now my son Michael who is seven piped in and said to me and Evan, “So our Christmas list is like a bank. Right Mom?” [...] Being a single parent sucks. I mean that in the nicest way possible-but it does. What sucks even more is having to be a single parent when you’re not really a single parent. I mean, I guess it doesn’t suck as much as being an actual single parent; but the suckage (pretend [...] It’s hard to believe but the holiday season is nearly here! I love this time of year-it is all so magical. My husband will be home for some R&R which means there will be lots of activities and lots of photographs taken. (Ok-the lots of photographs part-will not be anything new-but they [...] When Moon Dough first came out a few years ago I quickly scooped up a box and although it was a lot of fun the product left much to be desired. For one thing it was very messy and the dough didn’t stick all that well when it was used in the [...] My son lost his first tooth today! I can’t believe it. After so much time waiting, and hoping, and wishing, and wondering he finally lost his first tooth.
