Pesky Void-Ya know?

This last week I was playing catch up with reviews and my life in general. The last month and a half was so crazy. I know I haven’t written much on the personal side and I wholeheartedly thank those of you who stuck around.  Much has been going on-but nothing that is really all that interesting. As much as I would love to bore you with the mundane details of my life like paint colors, dirty diapers, and booger filled noses, I just don’t think you would find it all that interesting. Or would you?

My Best Trip of 2009

Gwen Bell is holding a Best of 2009 Blog Challenge. Basically you’ve got to post about a topic she’s listed each day in December. It sounds like a lot of fun and since I’m such a big fan of lists…well I couldn’t resist!

The challenge for December 1 is: What was your best trip in 2009?

The best trip I took in 2009 occurred in one weekend at the end of  August when my husband and I loaded our boys in our mini van and drove to Baltimore to see Blue October (the greatest band EVER) live. My mom drove in from Connecticut to watch her grandsons at the hotel while my husband and I had our first real date in over five years. It was amazing!

You can read and watch me gush all about seeing Blue October Live!

Weight of the World: Justin Furstenfeld Hospitalized

I’ve been sitting here trying to come up with something eloquent to say. Words you know, are supposed to be my thing. Instead I’m left tearing up into my sangria. I’m sad. My heart is heavy because someone who feels like a friend is hurting. He’s not a friend, but I feel like I know him. Musical poetry can do that to a person.

Pick Up the Phone Tour Press Conference-Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October Absent
Justin Furstenfeld

Justin Furstenfeld

A few weeks ago I wrote to tell you about Blue October and the Pick Up the Phone Tour which is advocating suicide prevention and other mental health programs. This morning’s press conference for Pick Up the Phone Suicide Prevention was held in D.C., sans Justin Furstenfeld of Blue October. According to their twitter page Justin has had a “medical emergency”. It’s no secret how much I adore this group and my thoughts and prayers are with Justin, his family and the band.
